Who we are
Eye on Dependency is a dynamic, thought-provoking radio program that explores the complex social, psychological, and systemic issues surrounding dependency in all its forms—substance use, crime, inequality, and institutional reliance. Airing weekly, the program creates a space for honest conversations, expert insights, and community voices that seek to understand and address the root causes of dependency in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.
The program was founded in 2002 by Garth St. Clair, a former soldier in the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment who has been in recovery for over 30 years, and Natasha Nunez, a communications specialist with a deep fondness for radio and its power to inform and inspire. Now a married couple, their partnership fuels the heart of Eye on Dependency—a platform built on resilience, compassion, and purpose.
Together, Garth and Natasha have cultivated a respected space for advocacy, education, and public engagement. Through in-depth interviews, real-life stories, and expert commentary, Eye on Dependency bridges the gap between policy and lived experience. It regularly features a wide range of voices—from recovering individuals and community workers to law enforcement officers and policymakers—offering holistic perspectives on the nation's most pressing social issues.
Produced and hosted with authenticity and care, Eye on Dependency is more than a radio show—it is a movement for awareness, recovery, and meaningful change.
